FAQs
No. Tamper-resistant outlets have internal safety shutters designed to prevent foreign objects from being inserted into the receptacle slots. APlugPro does not interfere with, modify, or bypass those internal mechanisms in any way. It is used outside the receptacle at the cord connection point.
No. GFCI devices monitor electrical current and trip when an imbalance is detected. APlugPro contains no electrical components, makes no electrical connections, and does not affect how a GFCI functions. If a GFCI trips, it is doing exactly what it’s designed to do.
No. APlugPro is not a replacement for any code-required safety device. Weather-resistant receptacles, GFCI protection, and in-use covers are still required where applicable. APlugPro is an accessory designed to help reduce moisture intrusion at the cord-to-cord or cord-to-device connection point.
No. Under federal law (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), a manufacturer cannot automatically void a warranty simply because an external accessory is used—unless they can prove that accessory caused the failure. APlugPro does not alter, modify, or connect electrically to any device or receptacle.
Outdoor connections are vulnerable where extension cords meet devices—especially in rain, snow, humidity, or washdown environments. APlugPro is designed to help create a tighter seal at that connection point, where moisture commonly enters.
Yes. APlugPro does not violate electrical code, does not alter listed devices, and does not defeat required safety features. It is intended to be used alongside existing code-compliant equipment.
